There are many superficial reasons people hire a financial advisor.
The big categories include things like:
- Investments
- Retirement planning
- Tax planning
- Your financial legacy
- Bigger picture financial support
Dive into any of these, and there could be 1,000 little needs that bring you into a financial advisor’s office.
But at an even deeper level, we believe there’s a more important reason people seek the help of a financial advisor.
What it comes down to is:
→ LIFE is greater than MONEY.
Sure, when you’re trying to figure things out, or maybe dig yourself out of a hole, money can feel like everything.
But when you have money figured out… When you reach a level of confidence with your money… When you generally have money taken care of… Money can move more into the background.
And you can focus on really living — whatever that means for you.
When people talk about financial peace, this is what we think they mean.
We see this in clients.
They work hard. They do the right things. They spend years or even decades practicing the financial discipline to put themselves in a really good place financially.
Us, providing whatever support we can along the way. But it’s their journey. And ultimately, they are the hero of their story.
And then they get to that point in that journey. Where they aren’t so worried about money.
Finally, they’re making financial decisions because they can, not because they have to. They have enough financial resources and flexibility that they can largely decide what they want their life to look like — and make it happen.
That’s when they “Start Thinking Possible.”
The way we see it, all those other things we can do as a financial advisor are a means to this end. They’re the things we take on, as our job, and our way of helping you spend more time enjoying your life.
While on the surface, you may be coming into a financial advisor’s office for help with investing your money or for another similar goal, that’s the little reason.
The big reason we’re here is to take much of the work and worry of managing your money off your plate. So you can focus your time, your energy, your attention, and your care on everything else that’s important.
